"Morning Train" by Shenna Easton grabs a hold of me against my will
I'm at that cervezeria in Psirri and "Morning Train" comes on after a rip-off version of Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" which serves as the theme song intro for radio 103.30.
I was immediately transported back to 6th grade, early 80's, listening to Casey Kasem's Top 40 count down and the long distance dedication.
How embarrassing is it to have this emotional tie to that song. I can't help it, I've been brainwashed. And there are others too. God help me, any song by The Carpetners, to cite just one example of how deep the depravity goes.
"Oh the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are -- chaff and grain together -- certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with the breath of kindness blow the rest away."
